Default Stimulus Check..what are you buying?

Soooo.

Are exhaulted leaders have decided to "stimulate" the economy with a check to everyone via a Stimulus Package passed by Congress.

<dont get me started on taxes and the crooks in Washington...thats a whole nother thread>

So here's the deal...

You get $600 no matter what
If you claim a kid on your taxes you get another $300 for each rug rat.

If you filed direct deposit expect to see it in May (mine is May 9th )

Otherwise, plan to see it late June or July depending on the last two numbers of your social.

DIRECT DEPOSIT

Last two SSN digits: Payment will be transmitted by:
00 through 20 May 2
21 through 75 May 9
76 through 99 May 16

PAPER CHECK

Last two SSN digits: Payments will be mailed by:
00 through 09 May 16
10 through 18 May 23
19 through 25 May 30
26 through 38 June 6
39 through 51 June 13
52 through 63 June 20
64 through 75 June 27
76 through 87 July 4
88 through 99 July 11

I'm looking at couple of things to get with the money, but most likey some more suspension goodies.

So what are you going to buy?

Well, not everyone will get $600 from the government; there is a phase out. From http://www.irs.gov/newsroom/article/...179211,00.html

Phase Out of the Stimulus Payment

The stimulus payment –– both the basic component and the additional funds for qualifying children –– begins to phase out for individuals with adjusted gross incomes (AGI) over $75,000 and married couples who file a joint return with AGI over $150,000. The combined payment is reduced by 5 percent of the income above the AGI thresholds.

Here are two examples of how the phase out works:
An individual with AGI of $80,000 and federal income tax liability in excess of $600 would qualify for a basic rebate of $600. Because this individual’s AGI exceeds $75,000, however, her rebate is reduced by $250 (the credit is reduced by multiplying the amount of AGI over $75,000 by 5%). The taxpayer receives an economic stimulus payment of $350.

A married couple with two children, AGI of $160,000 and federal income tax liability before the child tax credit exceeding $1,200 qualifies for a basic rebate of $1,200 and an additional qualifying child credit of $600 for a total rebate of $1,800. But because the couple’s AGI exceeds $150,000, their rebate is reduced by $500 (the amount of AGI over $150,000 multiplied by 5%). The couple receives an economic stimulus payment of $1,300.
