The whole funeral precession practice in itself is stupid, IMO... Why in the world is it legal to block roadways and drive butt *** slow to the burial site? The dead is honored in the church and again at the cemetary, do they really need to have an honorable escort, too? It just pisses off everyone else and causes accidents, obviously.

Jeez people.
It's ritualistic. Burial processions came to be as a way to honor the deceased by traveling slowly through the village.
Every time I see a procession I pull over and don't for one second think my time is being wasted. Someone has died, man. No one is asking you to cry about it but jesus ****ing christ man - some of you people are just damn cold.
And yes, the bike cop's procedure is quite standard really. As a former LEO I've been part of many processions in uniform and it is in fact standard procedure to block traffic and bust *** to the next major intersection to do it all over again. The cop did nothing wrong except assume that there was a shred of humanity left in people.
I mean seriously, who the **** cuts through a funeral procession? I guess a few people here have already answered that for me.
I believe I have completely lost faith in mankind. This video wasn't even about the cop. It wasn't about the person who tried to cut a funeral procession.
Whatever.

when you get shot in the head in iraq and me and my team come to bury you and instead of taking the slow ride we all just slice through the town quickly instead of honoring the soldier....lets see if you were that soldiers dad or wife etc and how you'd feel to see people were too f'n busy to take there time. u guys really need to look beyond yourselfs and consider that maybe joe's wife doesn't want to see her wife f'n buried for the last time....f'n ignorant americans man...

I think it a common courtesy and should be respected. I would hate to be ina funeral precession and have someone roll through because theywere late for their three o'clock waxing appointment. After watching the video, I think the cop should have have used his MSF skills, and been scanning ahead. Did he end up okay...does anyone know?

There's something not right about this video. The woman is questioning why the SUV, excuse me -- the Element, is crossing BEFORE it even enters the intersection. The sound on this video has been edited.
Isn't the idea of the procession to pull up to each intersection, stop the traffic, and allow the procession to keep moving in an orderly manner. This cop was not stopping...he was going straight through in a reckless manner.
Sorry Kid, I don't agree in this situation. The cop was out of control.
And yes, people should stop. It's not only the law, it's a sign of respect for the dead.
By the way, if you didn't notice, I agreed with your sentiment about the woman.
