Somebody turns 8 years old today....
Yup... I'd like to wish a very happy 8th birthday to..... my bike! Yes, I know I'm weird.... that's beside the point, lol. But she's been amazingly good to me and still puts up with anything I can throw at her, not to mention she's creeping up on the 1/4 million mile mark, so I had to do a little something.... she has had a rather... ahem... adventurous life thus far, you gotta admit! 8 years ago tonight I was rolling her off the Rick Case Honda showroom floor with 3 miles on the clock, having never ridden a bike in my life and not having a clue what I was getting myself into, lol. It was (and still is) the first and only new vehicle I've ever bought new my entire life. Now sitting right at 246,706 miles as of today, 20 states covered from Arizona to the Chesapeake Bay bridge, and from the Michigan/Canada border to the Florida Keys, ridden in rain/sleet/snow, temps from 15 to 100+ degrees, a few off roading excursions, and 5 trackdays and she's still going strong, and starts right up immediately on the first crank, every single time... I certainly can't complain! Can't believe it's been 8 years already though... sheesh time flies when you're having fun! Not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon, so here's to hoping she's still got a few more years left in her =)
Put a "2" in front of that.... dang 5 digit odo, lol
10-17-04..... I really didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into, lol. But I guess it all worked out... we're both still here, right?
Still looking halfway decent, I do suppose
That is all..... carry on.... don't mind my nerd-ish self, lol

Well im kinda nerdish myself and this intruiged me to crunch some numbers...
8 years @ 365 days = 2920 days.
246,706 /2920= 84.48 miles per day
Almost 85 miles a day from day of purchase.
HOLY CRAP!!! @$$ O-Steel!!
By comparison...
I bought my new bike March 2nd with 2 miles on it.
I took it in for service today and it had 14782 miles on it.
242 days of ownership... calculates to 61.07 miles a day...

Thats one of the coolest post ever..
thats why out of all the bikes ive ever owned.. honda has been my favorite and will always be my goto bike if i need a ride to be dependable..
you should send honda a letter to their public relations.. they might send you jacket or gold keys or something.. maybe put you in a american commercial.. alright maybe a stretch, but you never know!!!
id love to know how many things you've had to do to it, to keep it running so well.. and have had any major rebuilds on the motor??? tranny???
