Sold my bike but...
so i sold my f4i on ebay for 2300 which i was happy with since its not in the best shape cosmetically but is mechanically solid as can be. However, as many of you know theres the $125 ebay fee for successfully selling the bike on there and then a $15 paypal fee for the $500 deposit as well. So in the end im losing out on $140 and i refused to sell my bike for anything less than 2200 but with these fees im essentially selling it for $2160. Is it fair of me to ask the seller to cover the $140 that i have to eat or do i just deal with it? I may try to ask him for an extra $40 so i get at least 2200 and itll make me feel better mentally. But if everyone thinks im responsible for these fees then ill just pay it and deal with it.

Unfortunately I think I'm not going to side with you. If you wanted to get a certain amount, you really should have put up a reserve so that you would make what you want after all the fees have been deducted. I don't think it'd be right for you to ask him to pay more after he won the bid for 2300.

yea those extra fees get you sometimes, paypal and ebay love having there hand out for those fees. I think you should have estimated your sale price and added the fees into the sale price, but if you sold it and now are trying to up the price, that's not really fair to the buyer.

I think this one is on you buddy. That is just part of doing business on Ebay. It sucks but yeah you should have accounted for that. As a buyer I would be super pissed and refuse to pay anything higher than what was agreed on.
+1...yeah...that sucks but its the fact about selling on eBay. When I sell anything on eBay...I know I will absorb a loss for sure but better to get rid of something safely, swiftly & make good use of your recycle money. That's my thoughts about eBay...better to recycle, then let it sit there in garage & lose its value. eBay & Paypal takes about 12% commission, correct me if i'm wrong but their fee accumulate so freaking fast....bam bam.. and I owe them $hundreds of dollars..
