Sold!

Well I said goodbye to my 250 and my 600 yesterday. Sold them both and loaded them into the same truck, both are off to different owners, but they're friends so they just picked them up together.

Now I just have to wait and finalize my budget for my next bike, hoping it's the KTM 690 Duke :)

It was weird watching them go down the road together, and sad :(

But a new bike always brings smiles :)

well it's awesome to see you gettin' the duke!

My buddy has a line on a duke, if you get it before May you should post how you like it. I'm kinda considering one as a second bike for back road trips since the F4i is no good for that. Not the back back roads anyways.

These are the bikes I'm considering right now...

2013 KTM Duke 690

2013 Ducati Hypermoto
Ducati Hypermotard Hypermotard - Ducati

Each has its pros and cons.

The KTM has standard ABS, whereas the Ducati doesn't.

The KTM has 70HP and 60N/M of torque vs. the Ducatis 110HP and 89N/M of torque, which gives the KTM an advantage in my book...but after looking into it you can load an engine map to the Ducati that comes with it to "limit" it to 75HP...which I'd probably stay on for awhile.

The Ducati has a ~20,000 mile service interval vs. 12,000 for the KTM, assuming either of them last that long before needing something done.

The Ducati is...a Ducati. As stupid as this sounds but that kind of puts me off from it a bit since it'd be a theft magnet...then again it would also attract another type of person...the kind who I might now mind spending time with :)

The Ducati has so much more power, and in my opinion looks nicer...and costs $1,500 more. I'm trying to figure out what to do now :(

and....

while the duke is cool and not too common, i'd go ducati all day long....

and an "over-the-internet" high five and rep to anyone who can legitimately tell me who the security guard is. i didn't recognize it at first

That's the SP version, which is about $15,000.

I did do some research and found out that the Ducati has a better power to weight ratio than the Pagani Huayra, so I'd had to get a sticker that said something along the lines of...

"More HP/lb than a Pagani huaryauyra" with a mini stig head on the side hahahaha

sjona2011 Feb 18, 2013 08:03 PM

if you dont mind me asking, why would you want to limit the hp of the ducati?

I'd probably just do that for awhile to get used to going from like 23HP to 75 then to 110.

I was riding a 250 before this so it's a big leap.
