I believe the PS3 upconverts DVD's to 1080p. So you could probably take back the DVD player and purchase the replacement plan for the PS3 instead (if you haven't already). I know many people don't "believe" in replacement plans, but we've gone through 3 PS3's in our house in about 6 months. We would have been screwed if it hadn't been for the replacement plans.

Also, what kind of TV did you get? Sony, Toshiba, Samsung, Sharp?

 

I got a Nintendo wii with 7 games, and a Nikon D40 DSLR total cost of 1,400.

 

I didnt go out with the nutjobs either, but i did buy my new TV after work, honestly the best tv i have ever owned by far. Got a Mitsubishi "diamond" series 1080p65" dlp projection. I cannot believe how much better it looks then my old toshiba 50" 720p, it has a 6 color wheel, tons of extras etc. It was not cheap, and they dont seem to go on sale, but let me say you definately get what you pay for, its awsome.

 

i did not know ps3 did that but the dvd player i am keeping. it playes a **** load of formats like divx/xvid and mp4. and u can connect a hard drive to it.i got the replacement plan 2 years for 30 bucks.

an the tv was the 73" Mitsubishi 1080p DLP HDTV
