I like standards and my long term plan is similar. I have an F4... I'd like to buy a used 2000-2001 monoposto Duc 748 as my 'tear around by myself bike', sell the F4, then buy a good commuter/ride chicks around bike like a 919... ah, what a plan she is.
I'm not a big fan of the trellis design, but its a good looking bike,

my buddy bought an older duc monster. i believe it was a 620. but we traded bikes to ride one day, he had my f3 streetfighter, and i rode his. the bike comfy, but i had to kick him off my damn bike. wouldnt give it back. my f3 was just as comfortable and would stomp the crap out of his monster. 2 weeks later hetraded his monster and bought a 919. i loooove the look of nakeds, but if i were to get a monster it would be an s4r.
love the lineup there. those little ruckus bikes are a blast. gimmie a shout when you get to daytona im from the central florida area and know alot of people there.

I think my F4i is gonna go streetfighter, good chance at least and its already half there
the monster was just one of those bikes I saw and had to have, obviously the S4R is just f'in awesome but the 695 was right around $7k out the door while even the S2R800 would have been around $9k and the S4R is around $15-16k which is obviously way out of my budget. I could have gotten a steet tripple for a little more but it didn't appeal to me the way the monster did. If Honda had brought the new 599 over to the US I might have bought that but oh well. I like the 919 but again it just never really stuck out in my mind for any reason.
I don't need a fast bike, I have no use for 100+ HP on the street and if I ever do I've got this F4i sitting around that needs something to do. The monster is one of those "screw it, I gotta have it" bikes

What's the appeal of a duc? I don't mean that I don't like them, I just know nothing about them.
