Should I buy a truck?
do it, i would go for it... dodge SRT-4 is cool and all, but if you can get a deal like you stated above it'll be worth it. PLUS, you can run over any civics that get in your way in traffic, cant do that with a SRT-4 now can ya?!
I don't know about a Dodge pick up, I will say as far as apick upsgoes I, personally would buy a Ford. Ofcoarse, pick ups and vansare about all Ford does right. Either that or a go with a Japanese import truck light Toyota or Nissan. Just my opinion though seeing as I have never owned a truck.
Hell yeah, get the truck! I'm a truck man, cars are okay, but I'm into trucks. I have a Ranger ext cab XLT 4X4 that I absolutely love. It handles awesome in bad weather (snow, rain, etc...), I can haul my bike, you can tailgate, make "bed coolers"!, and so on...I was suposed to sell my Ranger but will probally keep it...I'm also looking at an 08 F-450 4X4 w/Powerstroke, 6spd, mmmmm...the truck that you're looking at is also a damn good truck!Going offroading is a blast, lots of fun! Just keep us UTD on your decision...if you do get the truck, post some pics!
My GMC is a 2500 H/D 3/4 ton...with a 6 liter. It's big. It also gets an outstanding 12MPG!! Yeah, that hurts, but hell...I could pull a house if I wanted to. The point is, big trucks are expensive toys...same as corvettes in a way, or expensive motorcycles, or airplanes. Something to think about if you get one. If you aren't too concerned about gas...get it. If you feel like being an enviromentalist then you might opt for a little electric hybrid...or something else just as cute and sassy.

Screw the truck and get a Honda Insight or a Toyota Echo.
Seriously, the deal sounds too good to be true. What type of interest are they charging you? And how the hell do you owe 18 grand on a car that's only worth 12?
IMHO, Ford and Toyota make the best trucks... go get a big Tacoma or something... fully boxed frame!

i say...save the money and spend it by installing a hitch on the SRT 4, buy a bike trailer, upgrade brakes (if you haven't already) and get some rear power windows (j/k).
regardless of how good of a deal, you're going from owing 16K with a few years left in payments, to 28K with 5 years of payments.
as far as them little 'problems' you have...i know tons of dodge owners who are PO'd at the so called "little problems" and most of them have had the same tranny problems over and over with the trucks.

IMO if you don't pull a trailer or need the cargo room of a truck on a regular basis, thena truckis a huge waste of money. A truck will be pretty boring to drive coming from a STR-4. IMO cars are much better vehicles, they handle better, have a nicer ride, are better on gas, and gernerally you can get more car for the money as opposed to a truck. As for dodge's, I drive a 06 dodge 15004x4 for work, I get about 9 mpg with the hemi, thats worse then the05 F-2504x4 I used to have. No way in hell would i want to driveeither as a personal vehicle.
