Default Should I...

In getting ready to spray my bike I'm trying to decide whether I want to clear over my vinyls or put the vinyls on over the clear...

What are your thoughts? Pro's and cons of each?

in my experience, vinyls come up over time sitting in the sun if they are not perfect, plus it just looks so much cleaner with clearcoat on top of them

id go on the basecoat under the clear unless you think you may want to change the vinyls some day...

If it was me I would put them under the clear, reason being is: Hopefully it never will happen but, if the bike falls over the clear will get scuffed and can be buffed out and the graphics will not be harmed. If they are on top of the clear they can become chipped, torn, faded and peel up in the corners.

Are you painting the bike yourself or having a shop do it? I've always painted my own things and it's a lot cheaper that's another reason I say under because if I wanted to change down the road no problem because I won't have to find the extra money to pay someone.

Questions for you to answer. (Not to me or the forum just yourself )
Do you like the vinyls your putting on, or do you looovvvveeee them? like=change love=not change for a long time.
when do you plan on changing the scheme and paint again? Prepping for anopther paint job it will be easier just to peel the vinyls off, scuff everything to the paint and go again. Under the clear you need to scuff clear off then remove then scuff again.

Just my two cents.

Oh and here in the near future after you decide make sure to post pictures!

I'd put stickers/decals/vinyl on over the top of all paint, both for ease of changing and for ease of repair.

if you put vinyl under the clear, make sure you get the good stuff. don't want those red graphics looking pink next year, etc.
