Sounds to me like none of that would have made a diffrence. First bike I ever rode was an R1 and I handled it just fine. Of course I didn't decide to go 100+ through the busy streets of vegas. Sadly, I don't think experience or gear could have saved his life, it was reckless driving. This is just another reminder of how we all need to make the right decisions when out on the road. It's to tmepting to go to fast, and that's how we end up dead.

my good friends budy just smashed into the back of a car three days ago on his bike. He left the bar late at night (not smart) and crashed, died on impact.

RIP Sean

I hate to say it, but does warm weather make folks stupid? It seems like a flood of RIP to this rider or that rider. No dissrespect intended at all, but what gives? I immagine the bulk of it is fair weather riders, maybe a bit dusty on the skill hitting the street riding like theres no tommorow, and of course, there not being one for them. Two new riders to myarea in the past two weeks.Nice guys, but rarely ride or haven't riden. I encouraged them to take an MSF course and even took it with them to set an example, even though I had taken one earlier in the year. I think more so than maybe giving advice, is to set an example and mentor good practices to newer riders and go along with them. Sure can't hurt.

Shocktroop,
excellent point. It has been a bit sobering these last several weeks on the forum. And your dedication to new riders is something that should be immulated. I wish when I had started riding, I would have had more experienced...and responsible riders around me.Pass it forward so to speak

I debated weather or not this was in poor taste, but it can serve as a grusome reminder of what can happen when your irresponsible side gets the best of you.

RIP Chico.

Everyone please take a step back and take a moment to gear up and be safer on the road. We may do our best to be safe but also look out for ignnorant drivers. RIP Chico. As someone stated before, it'sshame that so early in the year we've had so many deaths already. Let's all make it a safe summer guys.
