Quetion. Selling my bike
There was a post a couple of weeks ago, i dont know if it was here or somewhere else, but they had a guy who let the buyer test drive the bike and he never return with it, so theres another reason why you shoudent lee anyone ride you bike without money up front
+1
I'd refrain from showing potential buyers you doing a wheelie...

But...what if the person was going to get a loan for the bike? He would want to test ride it before he went through the hassle of getting the loan, in case he decided he didnt want it.

No cash/ no ride... is good. but the proper way, is to do paper work. saying you sold the bike, and are willing to refund the money( in ?? minutes) during the test ride. Don't sign the title... this is the best way legaly, also stating in write'n, that the rider, accepts all legal responsibility for damage to the bike and accidents. Look at his current dol info, copying it down. It may seem overkill... but anyone wanting to do a legit deal, will be willing. don't sell the rig w/o a buddy w/ you. And in a well lit public place, and if he/her, bring 6 buddies, w/ him, or twitchy... walk away. Good luck. Clean and free, Ripp'n

ive bought/sold 3 bikes. NEVER did i test ride or let test ride before the FULL asking price (cash) was in my hand. put the cash in my hand and you can go for a ride. if unhappy with the bike, give the cash back. but only if the bike came back to you as it left your possesion. and test rides are 20 miles MAX. you know if a bike is good within 20 miles anyway.

if someone is really interested in your bike he/her will agree to that terms. Also you get rid of the people that just want to take your bike for a spin to try it out and have no real interest in buying it

I have test driven 2 or 3 bikes where the seller didn´t even ask to see my license, just handed me the keys and told me to take it for a ride......I WOULD NEVER DO THAT!!
The best they get from me is a ride on the pillion, if they want to find out more, money up front i'm afraid.......it also does away with those who just have nothing better to do at the weekend.
