Default Question

I am planning on making a trip back home to SoCal in the spring and am in need of advice on the best way to transport my bike in the back of my truck? I have heard of different ways to strap down a bike but am asking for any available advice? I have seen the Pit-bull trailer restraint and cannot use it.ThePit-bull standis designed for the rear of the bike and there is not enough room in the back of a Chevy crew cab. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

get a canyon dancer it will keep the tie downs off of your fairings so it lessons the risk of damage and makes for an easy tie point on the handle bars

+1

ive used the canyon dancer in the back of a ford van and had
no problems, very easy to use and holds it perfect

EDIT: with straps in the back too i always go to the subframe instead of the rear pegs

And have someone sit on the bike to compress the suspension as
much as possible, other wise every bump the bike will compress
and the straps are loose

the best way is to get a Baxley chock and canyon dancers. The chock is expensive but it makes hauling a bike 1000x better than anything but the pit-bull/through axle type supports
these chocks hold the bike up and in place securely so you don't have to crank down on the canyon dancer. Keep in mind compressing the forks for that period of time can damage the fork seals, especially if the straps on the canyon dancer aren't pulling perfectly parallel to the forks.
