Don't hurt your back. If you herniate or bulge a disk, you'll be wishing you spent $100 on a stand instead of $1000's on chiropractor bills. Good idea though. I wish I thought of doing that!

i do the same thing until my new stands come in. the only thing i do different is i use a floorjack ont eh oil pan to lift the bike and have somebody at the back of the bike to slide the stands underneath the swing arm spools.

same process to get it off just jack it up, remove the stands and CAREFULLY lower the bike

oh and it does help to have and extra person to help with getiing it down lol

a floor jack on the oil pan to lift the bike? now i may not be the smartest man alive but....................
