wii is for kids, the mentally retarded, and fat ppl.
and ps3 will play blue ray if it doesnt swallow the disk first, sometimes it even waits till after the movie to eat it!
microsoft said that they will replace any xbox with the rrod and re emberse you if you already paid to fix it. http://www.xbox.com/en-US/support/sy...antyupdate.htmread up

360 all the way! controller is more comfortable, better/more games, go with the Elite system and there's no worry about the "ring of death"- it's what I got, the black system with more hard drive space and HDMI connection. the 360 & PS3 have about the same power, but what I gotta give to the PS3 is the blu-ray, you can get one for $400 around here, new, and the cheapest blu-ray player I've found is at least that much. I think in the future the ps3 games will have more content since the disc's can hold so much more info, but not yet! XBOX is the best anyway

If it is going to make it easier for you go to this website:
http://www.e3expo.com
Watch what those people has to say for the future of their console systems.
I have lots of friends favoring both systems. PS3 and Xbox360 both offer very similar services as far as the online services goes. They offer different games but again similar games li.ke (prince of persia vs. god of war).
My tip would be; Wait a little whi.le. Especially if you are thinking of buying PS3 which will unleash this new 80gb, integrated Wi-Fi edition by september for $100 cheaper. XBOX also will release a new console and planning a price dr0p soon. Older consoles of PS3 and xbox360 had some (both software/hardware) problems and I would wait and stick with new generation consoles.
Which system to choose ??? Now it is a question of knowing your own expectations. Free online play? Console specific games? What influences you the most? etc.

i have a Xbox currently, and am thinkng about upgrading to 260 or PS3, but what is the "cheapest" way to go? i have about 10-15 xbox games currently but thats not a big issue. do some of the 360's have backward compatability and some not still?

and a note to all, yeah PSN is getting better, but $50/yr is not ****...quit crying, you should be used to paying for services now, why not a gaming service? you pay for inet, tv, phone, power, water......not to mention there are rumors live is shifting towards a free service, so ha
