RE: Post Your Desktop
You don't need it as an end user but creating stuff in the video/graphics business it's very useful because you put all your tools and other crap on one screen and then have one monitor with nothing but the image/video your working on taking up entire screen which is very cool ... and much less aggrevating than scrolling around like a madman. Now I use the 32" monitor and it's even better. Gotta have the latest greatest thing ya know ... hmmm two 32's would be even better though ... ughh, never ending cycle [8D]

its as simple as buying another video card and monitor. Windows can actually support up to 32 monitors at one time. You can also buy many new video cards with dual outputs. Basically it gives you a lot more room to work with. You can have one forum open here, another there, etc. Great if you compare documents side by side all the time as well, or programming.

Okay, so I have to bite...let me put down my banjo first...what is this dual screen business? Is it literally as simple as it sounds, using two screens? Ignorance is bliss until it drives you nuts.

finally upgraded to dual 19"s at work couple months ago. it comes in handy when i am working remotely via dameware or RDP and of course while programming....page on left, code on right, save, refresh....aahhhhh, no minimizing.
also, you dont *need* two video cards, you can buy adapters that are essentially splicers. although im not 100% if the card has to be able to support 2 monitors specifically or not, but my system here at work has only 1 card. and as already stated, some come with 2 outputs.
