What is that in feet and inches? You can always get the bike lowered. There are lots of shortys that ride on here.

Ion at 5 foot 5 inches i would say you will be fine, just find a bike you like and lower it an inch or 2 to your liking.

Jules you are much taller then you sound

Its all in my legs my height :-) ...so it lends well to sitting on the bike and reaching the floor ... anyway how can someone "sound" short ..lol

I'm with TK, I'm only 5'5" and don't have an issue. I don't think my bike was lowered before I got it, but its a possibility. I can't put both feet flat at once, but its way easier to hold up a bike than you think. You may get laughed at a little, I do, but just blow them away in the corners...being tall doesn't make you fast! =D

Jules i like my women about 5 feet tall, so maybe its just dissapointment talking [>:]

Rrasco i actually agree with you, except the laughing part. Im nearly 6,3 and most days i wish i were shorter riding the bike.

I'm 5'4 and have no problem on my bike. stock height, or actually PROBABLY a little higher considering the shock I've got in there, and how I like my preload.

if you have short legs, just keep one foot on the peg shift your body and put the other foot on the ground. no need to lower it. I hate lowering bikes based on how it negatively affects handling.
