Hey guys, I was just wondering is it illegal to ride in southern California (562 area to be exact) with only 1 mirror on the left side? I ask because some how some invisible force knocked over my bike and broke the right side mirror (wtf? idk how it even fell over) so I only have 1 side mirror on the left at the moment...

I live in Los Angeles (323 area to be exact) and I think its ok as long as you have 1 mirror attached. I got pulled over for speeding and I had one mirror at the time and the officer only wrote me up for the speeding and my license plate being on my swingarm (fix it ticket) but he didnt write anything about the mirror. He also inspected my entire bike for some reason and was debating on writing me up for illegal exhaust (I have Two Brothers Carbon Fiber can).

Here is it directly from the CVC (california vehicle code) the part that says every vehicle except a motorcycle shall have no less then two mirrors probably covers you for only having one mirror.
Mirrors
26709. (a) Every motor vehicle registered in a foreign jurisdiction and every motorcycle subject to registration in this state shall be equipped with a mirror so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle.
Every motor vehicle subject to registration in this state, except a motorcycle, shall be equipped with not less than two such mirrors, including one affixed to the left-hand side.
(b) The following described types of motor vehicles, of a type subject to registration, shall be equipped with mirrors on both the left-and right-hand sides of the vehicle so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway through each mirror for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle:
(1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the driver's view to the rear.
(2) A motor vehicle towing a vehicle and the towed vehicle or load thereon obstructs the driver's view to the rear.
(3) A bus or trolley coach.
(c) The provisions of subdivision (b) shall not apply to a passenger vehicle when the load obstructing the driver's view consists of passengers.
Amended Ch. 74, Stats. 1970. Effective November 23, 1970.

in most states, bikes only need one mirror. i only use one mirror too. so long as it's on the left side, you should be pretty good to go. the left side is pretty critical considering you use it to enter the passing lane most of the time. just practice the shoulder check (which you should anyways)
