so i bought a 2000 f4 about 2 months ago and today when the fan kicked in it strated making a loud clickin noise when the fan turned off everything was ok but it still makes that sound when the fan turns on i figured i needed some coolant if so does regular 50/50 coolant from autozone works fine??

 

If its a clicking noise i would say that you have an obstruction in the fan blade path...

Was it every dropped? Could easily be slowly grinding a hole in your radiator.

 

the upper tab on my 929,from vibration i think,Anyway i needed coolant to,and when i filled it;out came the coolant,a pinhole in the radiator,from the fan,the tick when it kicked on only lasted like 2-3 seconds that was enuff,from the tab busted it changed the shape of the radiator slighty,and that was just enuff.No i couldnt fix it,yes i picked up another on ebay.Check it now,trust me...........
