Default NJ Riders - Legislature is Considering Lane Splitting

According to http://www.amadirectlink.com/legisltn/rapidresponse.asp, they're considering legislation to allow lane splitting during periods of congestion, and the AMA sitehas a link that letsyoulobby your state representative directly. I'm hoping that once it gets to NJ, New York won't be far behind.

I'm glad they're getting behind this, rather than just trying to repeal helmet laws.

They should recognize that there's a difference between splitting lanes at90 when everyone else is going 65 (I'll agree that's reckless), and doing it at 20 mph when everyone else is at a standstill. When the cars are packed together bumper-to-bumper, they couldn't suddenly swerve into you even if they wanted to.
