-brand new battery, literally today got it
-it was dead when I got it, but put new battery in and fired right up

-heading home it just shut off, literally out of nowhere just cut off. Pulled over and had plenty of gas so turned on and everythingh lit up perfectly and showed no signs of a dead or weak battery. Hit start and made a faint noise as if a "click" but won't turn over. Tried several times to no avail.......any ideas????

 

I'm not getting on you, (I did the same thing) check your kill switch. I did the same thing on the highway at night. Just a suggestion.

 

Tried everything and checked everything I could think of...this doesn't mean much

called a chick and she talked to her honda mechanics and that's what they said

Can you jump it off? If so, start it, and hook a meter to your battery, and you'll be able to see if its your charging system. You should see about 13.5 to 14 volts DC. Sorry, just tryin to rule out the simple stuff first.

 

i dont have the necessary tools....i dont have the thingy majig

 

you can get a thingy mijig at the tool store for about 10$ inless your bike is fuel injected it should only need a battery to start and not to run?

ah ha....stator/charging system/wahtever is the problem and that damn thing aint cheap!

 

sure aint. the stator for my bike from honda is like $230, got one off ebay for $15! w00t!
