Default which new bridgestone tires?

so after reading a bunch of threads on tires im prob gunna switch from the factory dunlops on my 08 1KRR to bridgestone, which bridgestone is the question, im torn between the bt016 and the bt003, i highway it to work a bit so like the harder center compound but also like to grip and rip thru some twisties not motogp style but definetly hittin the edge im used to only getting around 5K-6K out of a tire but those are the dunlop qualifiers, so if you guys and gals could give me your opinion between these 2 tires (the bridgestone bt016 and bt003) preferably if youve had them but ill take your thoughts anyways lol, thanks

I have the BT003 rs on my 600rr and I LOVE them I have two track days on them and they have only slipped once and that was at full lean with maybe 3 laps on the tire. I have zero issues with them. I cant comment on tire wear other then 2 full track days and they still look like they have plenty of ware on them

here's a pic after 2 track days

I've run the BT016 rear and am currently on a BT002 front and BT003 rear. I rode in a bit of excess, but the BT016 had pretty good wear, are awesome in the rain... couldn't tell you to what limit as I don't really push it hard when it's wet out, and they are plenty confidence inspiring. I can't tell you what it's like on a track, but through the twisties, they are frickin amazing. These tires easily boosted my speed around hairpins by a consisten 5-10 mph just by their feedback and steadiness through any bumps. I run it kind of hot on the highways so this may not apply to you, but I got around 4k or so miles out of 'em. If you follow speed limit + 5, I could definitely see these lasting you another 2 or so.

The BT002 and BT003 are nicknamed "erasers" by guys I ride with because they wear ultra quick. They take a bit more to warm up and after that (with my current skill set) I'm unable to really tell the difference in grip between these and the BT016. I actually got a BT003 fitted tonight and only had a short stint through not-so-twisty mountain roads, but they feel good. One thing I can say is that the tire profile on the BT003 is much more aggressive than the BT016 and that makes turning in really really really really easy.

If I had the dough to replace my tires that often, I'd stick with BT003s just for how flickable they make any bike, but the BT016 is a great compromise if they are cheaper for you and don't plan on hitting the track that often. Also, the BT003s are supposed to have decent rain performance from reviews and whatnot, I'm just fearful is all.

Bt 16's are a good tire too more for the occasional track day but I have friends that ride them. Really depends on what you plan on doing

i dont plan on hitting the track just street riding and usually take a bike trip in the summer to the dragons tail or somewhere like that but 99.9% of my riding is just around the country side and normal roads in the lake geneva wisconsin area and i very rarely get caught in the rain and if i do its usually only about 30 min average for me to get home from where i might be in the surrounding areas

well if thats the case. Pilot Power 2ct's are awesome street tires, and way down in price. Extreme grip, awesome in the rain, and wear like no other tire I've ever used. I still can't beleive I get 7-8000 miles out of set of tires that grip so well. I would actually try bridgestones, as I've heard great things lately about them, but I don't want to change what isnt broke. My michelins have never let me down in my slightly aggressive riding style, so its hard for me to want to try something new. I will be running these tire for as long as they make em.
