My Suzuki Project

So I thought I'd post up some pictures of my latest purchase, a 2003 suzuki bandit 600. The people I bought it from had it for a couple weeks when their drunk friend rode it into a garage door and dropped it. Wouldn't have been a big deal except the housing got broken in the process. Anyway, I picked up a lower engine case off ebay for 45 bucks and am working on tearing down the engine and replacing the lower engine case. So this is how far I've gotten so far, I'll post more when i get a chance to work on it more. Just thought I'd share. Here's some pics.

Are you completly rebuilding the engine? Did you get it pretty cheap?

I have an extra engine housing, so basically the internals of this engine are going to end up in a different case. I'll have to move the cylinders and head over, but otherwise yeah, everything in this engine is going to go into a different housing. Right now I have the cams out and am almost ready to pull the head, there's just some oil lines I need to remove.
The people I bought it from just got it from a dealership for 4 grand. had it for a couple weeks, didn't even have it long enough to get it registered. I bought it for 2 grand. It's got 6,000 miles on it.

just picked up an 01 just like that for 500 with the title.guy laid it down and the woods removed anything that was remotely plastic.but the good thing was neither the frame or motor was hurt.turning it into a euro style street fighter. But it still won't out run my cbr but it has great torque down low for wheelies.

Nice man.. Looks like a good project.. You have plans for it once you get the motor all together?

I truly can't decide what to do. At first I buy something thinking I can wrench on it and sell it to turn a profit. But then I get attached. I originally thought I was going to get it running and sell it, but I'm really itching to ride it. I really love my F2 but some days I just don't need the more aggressive riding position. I suspect what will happen is I will end up keeping it as well as my CBR. So long as I don't fall on hard times...

looks like a fun project man.... I like the jack your using, my teamate has one, well he didn't have it at the time I dropped the engine out of my bike, but he does now! keep us posted

You will appreciate the F2 after riding something like an 06 1000RR. When I get on my F2 anymore I feel like I am riding a chopper it is so much more upright!
