Default My first bike drop...

As they say everyone drops their bike at least once in their life, well today I hat mine. Luckily it was a very small one. My paddock stand was a little loose due to it being a cheap one, but I thought that it would be alright for a while longer. So I hooked up my bike ready for a good cleaning. The paddock held her a little unstable and wobbling a little to the left so I decided to put her down to setup the stand correctly, and then it all went downhill. As I started she shifted to the right, away from the kickstand side and she fell flat down on her side. No matter how hard I tried to hold her up by the backseat, gravity always wins. Only ended up with a few scratches on my fairing. Doesnt help that I was working in the garage where everything is concrete.

Sorry its not as dramatic as other guys ones but yeah, just thought I would document my first one . Im glad that all I got was a few scratches.

Sorry to hear that Duke, butat least this wasn't another crash post. I've been very fortunate. I've had a few close calls, but never dropped her...yet.(** knocking on wood **)

Oh sorry to hear that Duke, at least it was only scratches :-) ..I did that twice with mine over the years, just dropped it off the stand by simply over balancing and I have no chance once its gone past a certain angle ... the crash I had though was the first in 17 years .. which has made me more adamant it wont happen again, I know what I did wrong ...

Will you fix the scratches or just ignore them??

Jules

Yep im gonna fix it. I also saw that my grab bar also bent but i was able to bend it back straight. I just need to get some red touch up paint and she will be good as new.

Thanks for all the concern posts, hope all of you have safe cleaning and paddock stand sessions as well.

I dropped mine cleaning it too, hopefully that will be the last time. I almost think I would rather drop it riding then cleaning it so I don't sound like such an *** when people ask how it got those scratches.

LOL!!! Nice one!! Yeah, just imagine explaining to someone about your accident while standing still.

Well at least my engine is as clean as a whistle now. She looks and smells like a new bike, minus a few scratches

Well I will either weld this crap paddock stand up or get a new one.
