ORIGINAL: FLYOU

I can draw a liger. Bred for its skills in magic.

I also drew my ex, trisha.

Took me 3 hours to finish the shading on the upper lip.

But Woo, nice work man, wish I could draw.

Everyone, thank you for the compliments. It means a lot to me. I usually don't like showing my work to people.

Flyou...My drawings used to look just like that! No kidding. You need to start somewhere. The liger is great! I find faces the most difficult to draw...primarily because it is very hard to make a drawing look like the person. The portrait was about 6 tries (I can not live without a kneaded eraser) and one new piece of paper (so her present was a page short). I had a lot of trouble with it. It took awhile for me to figure out that the mouth was not aligned properly. After I loaded the picture up, I compared it to the original and found some other lines out of place...but it doesn't really matter. Drawing is like carpentry. What makes a carpenter great, is knowing how to cover up mistakes.

I believe that anyone can draw who put their mind to it. I don't think I was born with natural art skills but more of a natural desire to focus on it. Just like that person who stands outside shooting the basketball at the net over and over. I am usually good at, what I would call, mimicking; drawing something that is in front of me than using my imagination. People used to say that I should go to school for art. My Godfather wanted me to work for Disney (when I was in grade school). I had a problem with that. It's not something that I want to rely on for an income. It's just a hobby and relying on it would rob me of my enjoyment.

I really want to practice doing caricatures (I suck at them). I think they are fun and whimsical.
