With power comes responsibility...

Aken, i like to THINK im pretty darn responsible on my bike, and would be w/ a 1000. im not the type to go blasting around everywhere i go....granted i prob. ride backroads a bit harder than i need to, lol....but i dont go hitting triple digits everytime i hop on the bike. i like my insurance where it is

he said we can switch for a weekend some time and see how i like his 1000 in turns.

I would pass on that. Unless you have the cash to buy it from him if anything goes wrong or he may even dump yours.

My buddy had a HD and was driving me crazy to ride it for months, kept turning him down and finally just rode it to shut him up. i went a 1/2 mile down the street and came back and said it was great. I sure didn't want to pay for a $25,000 bike if something went wrong.

yeah i understand that RCR. maybe i'll just switch here and there when we're riding together. he's the only person i really like riding w/, ever. i trust him completely and he does the same, plus we're both kinda at the same skill level.

I had the same thoughts when I tried my friend's 2007 1000rr. Loved the torque, fit my body better, and it felt much more planted than my 600rr. Loved it so much that I'm buyingone for myself. Ordered it last week and it (hopefully) arrives tomorrow.

he's thinking about selling it to get a '07 or an '08 and im REALLY thinking about taking it off his hands, lol. but idk if its what i need to do right now. i just paid mine of so i really should go for a bit w/o any payments (i have no car payments....just insurance, cellphone, and rent ) and save money. i really would like to get another bike in a year or two.....now, possibly a 1000 !!!

Of course its what you need to do right now. Cut your food budget and buy ramen noodles in bulk, use the dollar DVD rentals at McDonalds for entertainment, and keep the lights off at your house. Or..just do like I do and come up with any rationalization necessary to get the bike oh, check your PMs too.

Yeah I rode my friends F4i for the weekend once and I LOVED the way that bike handles. It feels like it dives into turns...so effortless! But I was redlining it in every single gear and I felt like I was going no where lol. There's no replacement for displacement! The biggest downside to getting a 1000 is the handling....not quite as fun as the 600s through the turns until you really learn how to get it over.

haha yeah. idk if it was the tires....(i have PP's, he has Supercorsa's) but his felt like i was trying to corner on a brick! if i tried to weave back and forth, it would seem like the tires said "nope!" and i'd weave the other direction and they'd say...."nope!" lol.....just didnt seem to dip into a turn as well.
