Default Motorcycle ambulance?

I saw someone mentioning a motorcycle ambulance on another forum... so i googled it just for a laugh and found this

To me its like trusting a pirahna fish with your yogurt gun. I can't see any benefits from paramedics riding around on bikes. I mean they might attempt to get to the patient quicker but, quite unfortunately, a motorbike whizzing through traffic on a regular basis..... eeek.

I am an open-minded person so can someone enlighten me or present a situation where a motorbike ambulance might be useful?

That looks like it's in Britain, or somewhere else in Europe. In those places, there would be a definate advantage because of fuel costs and traffic.

Seems a bit silly, but first responders are a big deal. I am sure they know how many traffic accidents or other calls are delays becuase the 4-wheeled ambulance gets stuck in traffic. Also, in trauma cases bleeding out is pretty common, so even if they just get there a few minutes quicker it could save someone.

Either way, more bikes on the road = good.

I'm guessing it's for first response. I would bet that the bikes have enough equipment (specialized/compact) stowed in them to sustain someone until an ambulance arrives... if needed.

Amazing, a whole thread to discount assistance of any kind? Of course there are benefits, like getting to the scene of a crime quickly through traffic. The same reason a lot of people here ride to work, to get there more quickly and efficiently.

Some people just have to be negative about everything I guess.

Have you ever been to those insanely narrow roads in London? That's why very small cars are very big sellers there. The roads are extremely narrow, and during rush hour, a full size ambulance doesn't have a chance getting there quickly. These motorbike paramedics get there MUCH quicker and stabilize the patient while they're waiting for the ambulance to arrive.

It's not the ambulance that saves a persons life, it's the paramedics working on them. A paramedic is still a paramedic regardless if he/she is on a bike or a rig.

besides being able to squeese through tight spots in traffic, a motorcycle ambulance could be handy in the twisties....along the same line's though a paramedic on the scene w/o an ambulance is better then none at all

And hell yea he's on a honda too muahahaha at least they picked the right kind of bike
