howcome when you tell people that you live on a dead end street, they automatically assume you live in the ghetto. but when you tell them that you live in a cul-de-sac, they're like 'oh man, that's nice!'
I put two really good friends of mine yesterday 9 /10 afternoon on a American Eagle flight (AA) out of Dallas international Airport. They were supposed to be headed to Kuwait, and of course straight into the sandbox. But you explain this one to me. The flight broke down and was diverted of all places, to New York JFK on 9/11 they set in the damn airport terminal. From 0100 to 1300 it is a god damn shame these personnel who are returning to the god damn hellhole had to set 12 hours in a terminal just spoke to them 15 minutes ago. They are now in Luxembourg with 9 hour layover there and for those of you who haven't been to Germany in a while with the current exchange rate, you better be a damn wealthy individual to hang out very long. just damn frustrating when you know that a C-130 can cover the entire flight in a little over 14 hours nonstop to have it take two to three days to arrive in each direction on a commercial flight. Excuse me a contracted flight is ridiculous, and a waste it is also the third time I've heard of commercial equipment breaking down on one of these flights through venting on this subject
That's a damned shame, Gunny.
I just hope they'll be compensated for any out of pocket expenses en route - they should be.
As a civillian, you would have been sent to a hotel for the night, and been fed.
Disgraceful to treat Service-men and -women in this fashion IMHO.
