long post bike problem

Default long post bike problem

start off bike got hot i pulled over to let it cool for a few mins went on my way stoped for about an hour got back on felt as if i was loosing power the bike sky rocketed to hot i stoped pulled over the battery was dead had it towed changed plugs oil cranked it now it made a loud knocking noise when i rev it and when i get off the gas it dies bats dead againtow it back to my house i have it running for about 20 min idle screw turned sky high but for ut to only idle at 1.5 ride it not even 220 feet had to slow down it dies and still makes this knocking noise i dont know what to do

OK lets start with some basics, whats the year, make, and model of the bike. Also any major mods that have been done to it please.

also stator cover is like touching a hot stove but its only 2 months old the alternator its self

The stator is what jumped out at me right away, since it wont seem to charge. I would probably pop the cover and see if something came apart inside, if it was done that shortly ago the gasket should be fine to re-use so probably no worries there. The one other thing you could do, take a 12 inch or so extension, start the bike, place one end to the cover, the other end put you hand over then put it to your ear and see if the clunking seems to be coming from there. Of course if there are parts loose in the engine every time you start it you are running a risk. Personally i would just pop the stator cover and take a look, then you can proceed from there if all looks ok inside.
