so i was looking to see what lights are legal, so far it seems white and amber lights are allowed with no glare on a motorcycle.
but i did come across this which i find to be funny.

316.220 Headlamps on motor vehicles.—
(1) Every motor vehicle shall be equipped with at least two headlamps with at least one on each side of the front of the motor vehicle, which headlamps shall comply with the requirements and limitations set forth in this chapter, and shall show a white light. An object, material, or covering that alters the headlamp’s light color may not be placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied over a headlamp.
(2) Every headlamp upon every motor vehicle shall be located at a height of not more than 54 inches nor less than 24 inches to be measured as set forth in s. 316.217.
(3) A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318.

but this is even stranger and it is somewhat confusing, i was thinking ok maybe motorcycles would be under this.

Any motor vehicle may be operated at nighttime under the conditions specified in ss. 316.237 and 316.239, when equipped with two lighted lamps upon the front thereof capable of revealing persons and objects 100 feet ahead in lieu of lamps required in ss. 316.237 and 316.239. this crap makes no sense, so is every motor vehicle breaking the law going faster than 20mph at night?
am i reading this crap too literal?

Just on the surface I'm thinking in cases where you do not have 'correct' headlamps, you need some kind of lighting for driving at night but you then can't exceed the 20mph. AKA perhaps a scooter or bicycle?

sections 316.237 basically tells you what legal lighting is on a passenger vehicle, and how/when to use your low beams (oncoming traffic and such)

section 316.239 gives farm tractors the right to not have to run a standard dual beam headlight when on the road.

both of those sections give out the distance requirements that those lights have to shine down the road.

316.2395 basically states that you can operate any motor vehicle if it doesn't meet the criteria of .237 or .239 as long as it has 2 widely spaced headlights, that are capable of projecting a beam 100ft down the road. If this is the case, that vehicle can only operate at a maximum of 20mph.

so - say your farm tractor has a weak headlight setup that doesn't meet the 200ft down the road lighting requirement as defined in 316.239, you can still operate it if it is of sufficient height and aiming as outlined in 316.239.

this has nothing to do with normally operating/equipped vehicles, as are defined in 316.237
