Default Listening to music while riding....

Who does it? I have been thinking about purchasing an iPod with one ear bud so I could at least have one ear open for the outside environment. Thoughts? Opinions? Cheers and Jeers? Rocking to some Breaking Benjamin and rollin through some country roads would be a good time.

i personally listen ALL the time....i got a set of helmet speakers from helmetaudio.com and they fit into the helmet...they aren't all that loud, i can still here the outside with them cranked up....it's nice because you just disconnect them at the back of the helmet....personally...if i go on a short ride i won't bother, but anything longer than a 30 minute ride and i always plug in my ipod and setup a playlist....i personally love it...curious to hear what others think....

I have my MP3 run through my chatterbox, and the MP3 attaches to my triple tree. So I turn the volume low while in the city, and then I turn it up in the country and highway. Works great and speakers are mounterd inside helmet.

I would listen on longer rides, but I can't get any of those f_ckin' ear buds to stay in my ears when I put on my helmet. What I really want is a blue tooth set up...if they make it. Imagine how cool it would be to plug ina blue tooth "hootygobber" to your MP3 and have it send the signal to some speakers mounted in your helmet...is someone already doing this? I want to know...they have probably already had it in Japan for years. Anyway...I think it isrelatively safe to do, because you can still hear traffic.

Last long group ride i went on (17 of us) everyone but me had an ipod or some form of music. I have never used one, when i hit a good corner, or want to stand one up, all i want to hear is the bike sing I do own an ipod though, i guess if i were going on a very long (4 hours +) straight highway trip alone, i would prolly pop it in one ear.

voodoo...check out www.helmetaudio.com i bought helemet speakers that mount inside and have a disconnect in the back so when they are hooked up you can't even tell their in there...they aren't VERY loud, but they get the job done well..cost like $20.00...great investment in my opinion....check em out, i'll answer any questions if you guys want...

Thanks ffingers...I'd still like a blue tooth set up. I'm sure it is coming, if it hasn't already arrived. That does look pretty cool, though. I may look into it...

It's illegal in some states to wear headphones while riding. It is in Tennessee, as I found out the hard way, and the cop took my ear buds. Some states it's legal to wear only one headphone, and in other states it's legal to wear both.

Voodoo, check out the new Dainese Bluetooth helmet. It may be able to play audio from an iPod. If you have a cellphone that plays MP3's, it would probably also work with that.
