leather in summer
When stopped at a light or in traffic you betcha lol. But my leathers are black too except for some yellow on my summer jacket.
Someone said you guys are getting some sun this weekend. Summer is around the corner. But do you guys actually have summer there?
Summers in Seattle were always nice when I was a kid (had a bunch of family in the Seattle & Puget Sound area). The rain stops, and it's usually in the 80s.
Yumoncbr, I do think color makes a big difference. Even my textile jacket's black areas (basically the torso) are much warmer/hotter than the yellow areas. Plus, I don't know if you're aware, but they've done instrumented testing in the Phoenix - Yuma area (probably Vegas, too?) concerning roof colors on buildings, and white (or silver) lowers building temps and A/C loads noticeably. Black is HORRIBLE in intense sun. Not as big a deal in the obscured sun of parts of the southeast/east, but a disaster in the desert southwest.

textile is the only alternative, not as good protection as leather and from those that I know that wear textile, really not much cooler. key to a good summer jacket is vents and perforations if its leather. Mesh is a joke and false security.
I actually have a leather jacket that I cant wear in winter cuz I get too cold! Its a Joe Rocket blaster 4.0. Its totally perforated and the front of the sleeves are a mesh like material. It flows a ton of air for being leather. If your gonna rock leather in summer, something like that is a must.
