Me and 2 of my friends are heading down to Deals Gap May 20-25. Im so ******* excited! We just booked a hotel reservation. Its gonna be their second time going, but will be my first, been looking forward to this since i got my bike...CANT WAIT!!!

Gonna be doing a trackday in early may to get ready...figure out just how well i kno my bike, lol

 

Cool deal. Looking to ride through there this summer as part of my road trip from WI to PA and back. I've got two weeks for the whole trip. VROOM!!!

 

Sounds awesome L-2. We're heading down there this summer also -July 28-31. Yes we're heading down on a Saturday and coming back on a Tuesday... I didn't wanna be riding the entire time in "weekend" traffic if you know what I mean.

Where you guys stayin' at? We found some cabins/campground about 15 miles from the Tail... so that's our plan.

Damn that place looks nice. However, we're going to be throwing the bikes in a 6-place trailer so it could be tricky getting to Robbinsville! Unless we can find a better way to get there, I think we'll keep our original plans and stay at the Punkin Center Motorcycle Resort.

Have fun... I can't wait for our trip either.

 

hey guys----you definitely need to check out the Kickstand Lodge. Fred and Mo are great, they cook your meals for you, and best of all it's cheap!! It's about a 10 min ride from the start of the dragon----which you need to warm them tires up!

Trip sounds like a blast. I feel lucky to live about 2 hrs from there. In your opinions, what should a rider's skill level be before riding the Tail?

 

id imagine any skill could be fine, but since the turns are so sharp, i imagine target fixation and leaning angles must be taken into effect.
Im going to a trackday before so i know how far i can lean without doing too much

 

2WheelInn was a GREAT choice! The older couple that runs the show are friggin great! I really really can't say enough about them


You'll have a effin blast and check out Wheeler's if you need tires or anything like that. He always has great deals on tires though so don't go and buy any prior if you need them!

Ummmm do note that on your side, everything closes at 6-8pm and no beer in that county....Make them take you on the Cherohala Skyway! If they don't tell them i will drive 3000 miles to kick their asses. You'll like that road more
