Leopard is a POS to you? From everything I've seen, it's fantastic. Why do you think otherwise?
I don't own a Mac yet, so I'm curious.

]Keep in mind this is from someone who has worked with macs for 20+ yrs within no complaints ... loved all their s/w and h/w.
I use macs and pc's for business use so we put them to work WAY more than the average user so you may not be as disappointed and be able to live with the flaws but imo Leopard was released way too prematurely by mac standards. They've added some incredibly nice features in Leopard ... BUT ...
If you look around on some mac forums you'll see that I am FAR FAR from the only one b!tching about Leopard ... a lot of people are pissed.
The basic rundown, I'll keep it brief (any further questions, pm me or start a new thread so not to further thread jack):
1) I was happy with the rock solid Tiger o/s but Leopard had one feature on it called "Time Machine" which is essential to our business so I decided to upgrade all our macs. (They said Time Machine can't be sold separately as a stand alone program and requires Leopard to run on. I figured all mac o/s's are great anyway so might as well upgrade).
2) After installation found out 1st that it did not keep printer preferences like previous o/s's and this was pure DEATH for me since I run a printing business with over 50 print devices and all sorts of weirdo print driver settings. This caused over 1 day worth of time to fix.
3) Next I found that Adobe and Mac didn't collaborate like in the past and PDF distiller does not work with Leopard. We provide all our customers PDF proofs of their jobs so you can imagine the nightmare this created. This is further unfathomable since Apple primarily targets Educational/Print/Graphics/Media for their business.
4) Leopard does some screwy unpredictable things like when you search for a file name "ABC123" and you search "ABC" it will not find it but if you search "123" it will!?!??!
5) HERE'S THE BIG ONE: IT NOW CRASHES, FREEZES AND HANGSUP at all kinds of random situations with no rhyme or reason ... something that hasn't happened to me once since Tiger was installed.
6) I tried to reinstall Tiger but found that unlike previous o/s's, they've designed Leopard such a way that you can't reinstall a previous o/s without erasing and reformatting your entire harddrive!!!!!

I thought many of these issues might just be a bad install or just isolated to my computer but I found 2 of my other employees I installed Leopard for having the exact same problems. I then researched the net and found a lot of people saying the same things. Apple will not admit to these problems but I'm sure their trying to fix it A.S.A.P.
On the up side, Time Machine works beautifully
[8D]All I can say is if you buy a new Mac see if there is anyway they will install Tiger and take off Leopard or wait for the next update to Leopard to fix all the bugs.

Gotta know how to claim expenses so the IRS can't get all your earnings. It's complicated but it helps to have someone at your side who knows the little ins and outs of their system and can maximize your earnings while minimizing taxable income. My dad does that with his business..... very legally I might add.
