Default Insurance woes

Gonna take a $350 hit on my jacket from the low side. While my gear is covered, they have a maximum payout of $500. Wonder what they'd say to people that pick up the $4,000 Aria CF helmet?

They really need to disclose chit like that. And watch the fine print y'all. My insurer covers accessories... but not on sport bikes.

I've always loved the way some insurance things work. "We'll cover it as long as you don't use it" always seems to spring to mind. It's almost useless unless there's a total loss or close to it in some cases.

My insurance gave me $564.88 for my helmet, which is a exact replacement of what I had including the iridium visor. However, it does not cover other gears. In my recent accident case, I can get reimburse by other insurance company when I get settlement. But if this was me sliding on my own, I would have to buy replacement on my own

Hmm... So what's the total coverage on gear?

It's great that we're legally required to be extorted if we want to be able to drive.

Dunno the total limit on gear. I'm guessing it's based on individual piece cause they also offered to pay for my riding jeans My helmet never touched, thanks to my shoulder and arm.

Safe bet that they cap the price of 1 piece suits too tho.

Insurance companies are great. Mine told me that if a claim was turned in after a car wash wand dinged up my fender I'd get a 28% rate increase. Kind of like, "We'll loan you the money to repair you car, here's the repayment plan with lots of interest." What were we sending them a check every month for? So we'd be eligible for an instant loan?

In the end the car wash paid damages and we didn't have to talk to our insurance agent about that.
