Kiwi,
I guess you are correct. Mr. Steve Miller just might have invented a word that will take more time to be assimilated into our everyday use. I will say that it is probably one of the most sung tunes throughout the decades here in the states. I had it on 8-track, cassette, CD and now mp3.
