Default Identify this turbo setup

Its GM but I'm not sure off of what engine/vehicle. The turbo is AIRESEARCH and is part Garret from my understanding.

No. Plans on the turbo if I can use it. Also if I can find a rebuild kit for it.

Looks like an interesting setup. That last odd setup I saw like that was 5 years ago when I was working at the grocery store. There was a natural gas powered back-up generator that was powered by an old Ford 460 that had a turbo setup on it. It was pretty cool to see.

yep, 301 Pontiac. Very weak Engine.

I love Older Pontiacs and have had my share early mid 70's Firebirds and T/A's. I love the 400 engine, but the 301 was a terrible engine. Even turbo'd it was just over 200 hp that didnt make any usable power until it hit around 4 grand. Then a dismal 5200 rpm redline and you get the picture of howuseless that engine was in a 3500lb car.

Heck, even Smokey and the Bandit 2's Turbo TA had to have a power adder just to get the tires to break loose. Man I'm glad the power robbing days of the late 70's and early 80's are over....

I hated seeing old crap with air pumps and stupid worthless crap bolted to the engines to be smog compliant. I am glad I don't see that stuff anymore. Luckily EGRs are almost all gone too. I love variable valve timing.
