I need help.
Yeah man, you need to get professional help... have you talked to your parents about it? One of the hardest things you can ever do is tell your parents that you've made a mistake, but they're probably going to forgive you just for being "man enough" to come foward...
You seem like a nice enough person, your parents are probably just the same. They'll help you if you ask for it.

I was just reading about a type of detox they do. they put you under for like 2 days? and they do something that makes you not want it anymore. and they say you can return to a normal life in just a few days. and they have a very high succsess (sp?) rate...I dont see how that works tho. ill figure something out. i work at 10:00 tonight and im gonna try hard to not take any.

Seriously. I need vicodin to do ANYTHING anymore. i cant work for more thn 2 hours without freaking out on someone cause i dont have pills in me. i cant enjoy music. i cant eat, i cant even hold a conversation without them. i have maybe 10 pills left. and i decided last night i didnt want to take them anymore. so didnt..about 4 hours of them being out of my system i started to hit the withdrawl symptoms..and it was HELL. i was sweating. throwing up, i ached..i just really wanted to die..so i took 3(i usually take up to 5-6 at once) and i felt better. went to sleep. go through today without them. its not 7:30 and i started to feel like *** again, so i had to take them. Whats the best way to kick this crap? i realize i have a problem. and i want to stop it. should i use these last ones to slowley get off of them? like take 3. then 2 and then just take 1 for a few days? what should i do? i really really want to get away from this.

One of the first signs that people are ready to be helped is when they start admitting that they have a problem out loud to others..
You need to register for help or rehab with any clinics that you can, hopefully that are free if possible ..

Seriously..Go to the doc. Get some anti-depressants. It may seem lame. But they do work. I had to take them when I was 16. Sometimes stress gets the best of us. If not i'll send some vicodin your way! Always makes me feel better!

Come on jd... pull yourself up! Taking it for medical treatment is totally different with addiction.

Off the street drugs or Prescribed ...
A fact !! .....
more people are addicted to legally prescribed drugs than are addicted to street drugs... ok !
Just because some bloody doctor says you need them ..does not make his decision necessarily appropriate nor correct!!
" totally different " ???? my *** it is !
In 9 out of 10 cases any addiction requires intervention by a third party.. ( councilor / clinic ) what ever...
Addicts tend to kid themselves for so long that they believe that they can stop or fix there own problem...WRONG!
It is only once addicts hit the wall ( bottom ) that they finally realize that it will take more than themselves to stop and get well...
Stop right now , not tomorrow , admit your problem to professionals , and start saving yourselves...

My son was in a major car accident last year (broken pelvisx7places, arm, leg, perforated bowel etc etc) and ended up addicted to pethedine.
He was in **** state for a few days, but pulled through it.
So can you ! Good luck Brother.

Kind of in the same boat as you JD. Been in a few bad wrecks over the years. Have 2 fractured vertabrae in my lower back and a total of about 4 compressed and herniated discs. To top it all off, I have a torn labral cuff in my right shoulder, with surgery coming up for that beginning of next month. My doctor will give me as much Vicodinthat I wantwhen I ask for it. Started to get into the same mode as you, and couldn't function w/o it. I was able to stop taking them all the time. For about a month I just never filled the prescription, and told my doctor not to give me anymore. I still have them, and only take it when the Tylenol, Ibuprofen 800mg, or ice pack just won't get it done. I can usually get away with taking 2-4 pills in a week depending on how hard I push my body, and that's only if I poosie out. Usually I try to man up, take the pain, and stay off the meds. Vicodin is nasty stuff, not only deteriorates the liver but destroys the stomach lining aswell.
If you can detox on your own then you should try. I won't lie, it's really hard, but the end result is worth it. For myself, I know that if it starts to be a problem again, I will be the first in line for rehab.
Best of luck to you.

You know what you need to do, and talking about it here is a good start but you need to find someone to help you get serious about it. I know a little bit about this after suffering through various addictions (meth, etc. etc.) and surviving. December 10th will be 8 years sober for me, from EVERYTHING. I won't even have a casual beer.
Good luck in this, and be strong.

It's all mind over matter man, you obviouslly have indulged quite a bit by taking so many at one time, but after you have your surgery, try and keep it to 2 pills...NO MORE AT ONE TIME! Once you can get the feel to stay at a normal rate, your body should be able to pick up and help with the pain naturally. As for the euphoria...go gamble or smoke pot or something
. If your an addictive kind of person, your going to have to seek some better insight from (professonal or past addicts) to learn how to cope with your impulses.
And if you just can't stand to stare at your scrip without takin some, I'll give you my address and you can send them to me!

An addict is prabably the best person in the world at rationalizing. If you are DONE, make sure that you don't talk yourself out of getting better. Usually with drugs, there are diminishing returns. What do you get out of taking the pain killers? Sounds like they are f_cking up your life, and you know it. Good luck, man. Keep us posted.

. I do however wish you the best of luck, im sure you can kick it.
