I only have a mx one that is dot and snell right now. It is very loud going down the road, like the wind noise is louder than my LEO Vince exhaust. Is a regular motorcycle helmet a lot quieter? and if so to what degree?

 

Yep. A lot quieter w/ a quality full face helmet.

If you wear earplugs, it'll be even quiter.

A full face one will be much more quiet. But they all vary slightly in wind noise. My HJC used to be amazing when i first got it but now that its shapped to my head its a bit louder than at first.

 

A full face will be much quieter than an MX helmet. However, fit really plays into how quiet one is. Try several before buying if you can. Some have different size cheekpads that will change the fit also.
