How-to be more visible at night....
When I first saw EL wire, I thought that might be a good way to make a rider more visible at night. Unfortunately is has the side effect of making you look like a tron geek, too...
but anyway, here are some step-by-step instructions of stitching EL Wire onto a coat or other garment. http://www.instructables.com/id/how-...other-garment/ Step 8 shows some other designs, besides the tron look. |

Also:
http://www.identi-tape.com/solas.html I'd rather look like a twat on a bike, than a twat on a hood. I do enough bad weather and night riding that it isn't worth it not to be high vis. Just the other day I got caught in a rain storm - it was raining so hard I was having a hard time seeing cars (particularily the ever popular silver ones)... I threw my high vis Orange jacket on... yes it looked stupid, but at least they had a chance of seeing me. |
RE: How-to be more visible at night....
Certainly got a certain appeal to that stuff... not my cup of tea! :D
If you do do it, rig up some skeleton bones... that at least would match a funky helmet. |
RE: How-to be more visible at night....
Or a twat on a slab, Woot !:)
I have blue reflective tape on sides and rear of my bike - certainly makes a difference - raingear has reflective piping and panels as well.Rear of helmet too - small, but visible. Can't be too careful out there, too many idiots on the road. Thanks for the info Woo and Woot (You guys related ?) he he |
RE: How-to be more visible at night....
pretty cool. Seems like it would take quite a bit of work to get a good design.
