How to be a good customer during a service call
- Do not be using narcotics when he arrives
- Do not demand additional work to be done while using narcotics at his arrival
- Do not call him back demanding to know why he left
Seriously some people are idiots. I've let a couple people slide on smoking weed when I get there, asking them to put it out so I don't smell like I was smoking it at my next job. But that's a favor for people that seem pleasant enough (or aren't so ****ed up I worry bout my safety). But then they act a dick, demanding I do work not on the work order?
Guaranteed I notify management that I left the job.
Call me demanding to know WTF??? And cussing out my Voicemail box???
GUARANTEED I blacklist your premises, requiring management to come with any tech for future service calls to ensure they're clean and sober... which means never since a supervisor ain't going thru the hassle

That's when you start sending contractors out instead, we all know they do the best work, right?
Every time I go out int he field and ride along with some of our I&R guys, we tend to find some work that just looks like crap, and every time the company guy mumbles something about those "damn contractors".
