Man I was in Tucson a couple weeks ago and I can't even imagine riding a bike there... but I might be moving there in a few months, selling my car, and riding my bike exclusively... so I guess I'll find out. Are there a bunch of U-turns in Scottsdale too?

But its good to hear you didnt fall.

Side note: If those nikes fell apart rubbing against a bike imagine the solid ground. Just some food for thought. I dont wanna read any injury threads.

Megs-Just say no to drugs and Tucson..both will kill you And...DO IT SELL THE CAR...here comes summer...I sold my Lexus IS300 and only ride the bike now! I get experience and better riding techniques day in and day out..Word to the wise..on the F4i (clunky gearbox) preload the shifter when applicable! I know the gearboxes are strong, but by design the feel of them coupled with longer throws and loose tolerances let alone the sound they make when shifting (settle down guys not 100% of the time but "most" of the time) annoys me

U-turns galore up here in the upper valley..not only that...there are illegals on every corner...um...riding stolen bikes...um...across crosswalks...at night...with a red light telling them "DO NOT CROSS"...hmmmm

He's a bum...but I literally grabbed some brake and swerved as he saw me at the last second. He put his feet down to stop and as I grabbed some brake, I felt the fronts grabbing a bit too much and I didn't want to endo/lock em up so I released and pumped again and pulled the clutch in (I'm in 6th gear) and as I swirve, my left shifter foot smacks "something" which I assume was his pedal going about 25mph...I JUST made it around him although grazing him and his pedal which ripped a hole in my brand new NIKE!! Bastard! More than anything I was praying that he didnt scrape my fairing or stator cover or jolt/bend my shifter. I pulled over when I could and checked everything out and it seems he just got my Nike

Close call...last time I ever give a bum money...they all owe me $89.99 now...

So you almost injured or maybe killed someone on a bicycle as well as yourself and all you're concerned about is your shoes or a possible scratch on your bike. Grow up son. Your shoes and your bike aren't the be all and end all of life. Be thankful you aren't laying in bed unable to sleep as you relive a serious accident. Or worse, laying in a bag at the morgue.
