you know what they say, "if the wife aint happy, nobodies happy" and thats so true. I say keep talking to her and she will come around to it. on a side note, HOV lanes you can ride bikes on? never knew that, but we dont have HOV lanes here... wish we did, makke my ride home at 5pm from Cincy a little better when Im on my bike

You get £7k worth of sport bike and I get an iron, Wonderful!! [:@]... trust me you will get a V shaped dent in your forehead!!
Now, you are under no obligation to do this but I would respond very favourably to
"thank you love for understanding how much the bike means to me!!" ..also .. "I would like to take you out for a nice meal this weekend and I thought we could look at those bracelets you said you liked!!" ..we are not talking expensive here, but its just a token and the thought that counts more with me.

Unfortunately she doesn't like jewelry so that part sucks.
She has no problem with getting a bike per se but getting a "brand new" bike and spending $8k plus is the problem. I'll work on it I just figured it would be good to rationalize with people that would say get the new bike...if not new than next best. I've pretty much gotten all of that.
We're married so having understanding and not being a one way street is more beneficial than saying I'm doing what I want when I want. I feel mutual respect is a much better approach thus I'm trying to justify to her that $8k+ on a new bike is a logical decision!
Shortly after the bike I've got to decide on a car and that will be loads of fun!
BTW I assume the iron/dishwasher comment was more in a joking fashion as I stated right now I'm the "domestic engineer"/stay at home dad. I think DE sounds better!
We'll both be working if I get the spot.
One of the things I realized about the hov lane were bikes passing us whileI was dead stopped. At this point I noticed the sign that says what you have to have/be to roll in the hov lane. I'll take a pic of a sign sometime this week once I go back out there to drop off more documents.
