HELP! DVD problem

Default HELP! DVD problem

I have a notebook that gives me some crap error when attempting to play a dvd, something bout some encoder? In simply terms what do I need to get to fix this problem? And what does that have to do with media player which doesn't wanna play it for the same reason? Do I need new DVD player software???

Media player won't do DVD by default, you need to install the appropriate encoder. Find a trial version of some DVD software and install it, then media player should work.

I dont wanna be a pain in the *** just trying to understand this problem, theres multiple programs for playing dvd on this computer and all of them give me the same crap. Cant I just uninstall the old dvd programs and just download the newest media player?

yes, but WMP does not have that decoder, probably some DRM bull. I use media player classic. PM me your email addy and ill send it to you.

is the magic word Codec by chance? if thats tha case, go on over to www.DivX.com and go to download, and just choose the codec, you dont need the player.
