HARBOR FREIGHT IS THE ****!!

RE: HARBOR FREIGHT IS THE ****!!
#1 on the small motortools. They're most likelythe same Cummins stuff that comes by the truckload to town and is sold at aone-day blowout event. My boss bought some of theirtools - a six-inch angle grinder, a hammer drill, abench grinder and 128 piece drill bit set. The angle grinder lasted a month or so, the hammer drill a few months. Both went through their pencil-lead sized brushes in nothing flat. The drill bits didn't break very easily, though, they just bent. In fact, most of them were bent when we opened the box. The bench grinder vibrated so badly because of out-of-balance wheelsit was nearly useless. Huge waste of money.

I've got a set of the mini snap ring pliers from them for doing master cylinder rebuilds. those things work fine with a little modification.
I wont buy anything beyond basic hand tools from there, but the quality is improving at my local HF store. as was said, they're good for basic stuff, or tools that will likely be stolen/lost by workers, or broken often but if you're using them day in day out, buy the quality stuff.

I will admit to buying the harbor freight crap on occasion. its usually when I need a one time use tool. like I bought a hammer drill for like $20 one time. worked great the one or two times I used. it. they are disposable tools. dont buy any wrenches or anything that needs to be a specific size. that chinese crap will round off your bolts everytime.
I have a bunch of stuff like jack stands, crawlers, buffing accessories.

All drill bits, saw blades and such are ****. But I do use the 4 1/2" grinder alot and for 17 bucks it lasts about 4 to 5 months and when it dies I just trash it and buy another. DeWalt charges 90 bucks for the same size and lasts just a little longer then HF brand, so I can get 5 for the price of one.
Like most said just cheap throw away tools for one time use in most cases. Where else are you going to buy a 18" machette for $1.50?
