Guys with old bikes..take heart...
Interesting read in the new SR.
Doing a semi-old vs new machine comparison.
Like...
The 2007 GSXR-10000 makes just 20 more horsepower than the 2001 Gixxer 1000,
and the majority of this HP adavantage is made in the last 2-3 k of rev range.
An area all but the road racer and wannabe racer is going to use all that often, without wrecking the bike
or having a hefty wallet to replace all those max revved parts.
Gives hop to us guys with older bikes I think.
That and the fact that the RR lacks all encopassing bodywork and is built for someone
4'11 or under.
Personally, I would rather have a 2007 ZX-10R than my CBR F-2 but...well, old poor riders don't
have to feel so bad.

RE: Guys with old bikes..take heart...
When I had my F3 I could tear up the twisties and pass 90% of the riders on the bigger newer bikes. I loved being the underdog. The bike you ride doesn't mean sh*t if you don't have to skill to ride it how its meant to be. I'm a good rider but I still have lots to learn.
