I have not heard of that, but I have a guardian angel on my visor in my trick. It states, "never drive faster than your guardian angel can fly.". A customer gave it to me at my work and have had it for a couple years. No accidents no speeding tickets since.

Im not into the superstition either. I agree sometimes we all need a reminder to be careful though. so for that, its a good idea.

I wonder if the bell was first thought of by Harley dealers to convince Harley riders their bikes arent crap... " its those darn pesky road demons.... thats why your bike fell apart..."

A coworker of mine gave me one just a month or two ago. She said it's "magic" is more powerful if you get one as gift rather that just going out and buying one for yourself. I had numerous electrical problems earlier this year and was left sitting by the side of the road. [:@]

As soon as I got my bell (she called it a "freedom bell"...it was bought at a Harley dealership I think) Ihung thatbaby on. Haven't had a stitch of trouble since. Maybe it was the repairsI did...maybe it was the bell...

I'm wondering whether we'd all be straining to hear if our little 'gremlin bells' were tinkling, or the chain needed lube.......What the hell is that noise.....???
I love the sentimentality of the whole thing, Wepps, but not on my Hurricane, thanks !
I have a tinkly camchain to ward off the li'l critters !

Don't get me wrong Shadow. I'm one of the least superstitious people you will ever come across. But if someone cares enough about me to get me a bell to ward off "evil road spirits", I'm going to respect them and their feelings enough to hang it on. What's the harm in that? And you never know...

Think of meand my bell thenext time you're stranded on the side of the road Pete.
