Default gsxr-1000 first bike for my buddy

Well this kid I hang around with every now and then calls me today and said he bought a gsxr 1000 for his first bike! The kid can barely ride a dirt bike. All I can say is I will not be riding anywhere near this guy because he is going to hurt one of us. I kinda bitched him out for being dumb but you know it doesn't work. People like this really **** me off [:@]

A dumbass co-worker of mine bought a brand new R6..............crashed it 3 weeks later while attempting a wheelie.........at night........with no gear...........and he never rode a bike before in his life..........ever. So yeah, they're out there. (scary thought).

Similar story;
A friend of mine I've known forever bought an 06 Kawi 650R about a year ago. After about a month he decides he's ready for more. Ok, I was thinking he was maybe going to get a 600 since he was more comfortable on a bike. Wrong. He bought a new 06 GSXR 1000. He still has it, but it's got scrapes, zip ties and rivets holding together bodywork on just about every piece. Not trying to rip on him or anything like that, but it's been down 3 times already - in less than a year. 3 times doing stupid stuff that could've easily been avoided.
I don't like riding with him at all because he's unpredictable. He asks me to go riding, so I'll come up with an excuse to not go. Then I strap my stuff on and go alone. It's bad, I know. Good guy and all, but has no respect for it really.

What I think is so funny is that when I stop by my local dealer Cycle Barn to check out the used bikes (even though they are way over priced) to see if they have any 600's (want a stunt bike too) all they ever have are 1000's. And they are '05 and up with like 800 miles max on them. Its amazing how many kids go buy a 1000 and then either sell it or trade down (thats if the bike is no trashed yet from going down). The first street bike I ever owned was my 1000RR. And I have done just fine. Its not the first street bike I have ever been on.
