How could you guys like this movie? Clint eastwood's character RUINED the movie, he goes from a racist battle hardened war vet (who I thought was an awesome and well done character) to all the sudden a softy who mingled with the 'gooks". His character changed nearly instantly, for a guy who never even liked his own sons. The character development and **** poor acting really ruined this movie. The first 20 minutes of him being pissed off was awesome, but when he suddenly turns because that shaman spoke to him, that was crap. Movie sucked, I still say save your money, unless you torrent it. Yes, sadly I did pay money to go see it.

I think that Clint is the only reason to see this film. He has an amazing aptitude for powerful stories and his acting/directing skills are second to none (I loved Mystic River & Million Dollar Baby). I thought his character's development worked in the film. It did not feel forced or illogical. It is just an old man reluctantly coming to terms with a changing society. If no one learned anything or nothing changed, there would be no story.

I do agree that all the other actors were painful to watch, especially up against Clint. Really painful. I think other than that it was a pretty solid film.

So more people liked it then not. I like the fact that he changed, and why would he like his own family all they want from him is his house and bills tickets haha. Yes the acting sucked but so did fast and furious (all 3), torque and biker boyz.

I will say this for you Timmy Jones Tao's (toad) character was an awful actor. It is pretty hard to be a bad actor when you are looking at the ground most of the movie. I had a 70 Torino fastback with a 351 Cleveland in it and nobody knew what it was. Very cool to have a classic rare car in your early 20's. I miss it I had too many toys and decided the gas it used wasn't worth it.

I worked at a pawn shop for a summer. This one guy pawned a 1971 Gran Torino station wagon. My boss was furious!!! Because was paid 400 for it..untill he saw the 351 cleveland under the hood
