Default Got an "ok" offer on the bike..what do you think?

Well i just put my bike on craigs list last night..and had a few emails/phone calls already..i am askign $3,800 for my bike..which is JUST enough to pay off my loan..one guy called and offered me $3,200 he would come pick it up tomorrow..(hes about 400 MI. away..ive been talking to him on the phone, seems like an alright guy..but the lowest i wanna go is $3,500..i told him that, but he said its for his son and he cant spend a penny over 3,200. so i might just tell him sorry, ill try somewhere else..what do you guys think?

thats up to you. how much would you have to pay up if you sold it to the man for $3,200? sometimes its best to just get it gone....if thats what you want. i know when i sold my quad i took a grand loss....but the offer came up and the guy was local. i was willing to pay off that last grand and just be DONE W/ IT!

how many miles are on your bike, JD? what are your plans once its gone?

my bike has 19k miles on it.. i still owe 3,855.89 on it(just checked) and i dont think i even have that extra $600.00 laying around to pay it off..once its gone im going to wait untill my shoulder appt. on may 5th and see what the Dr. says before i go buy another one..but im basically selling because i want an RR..they feel smaller and lighter which is something i would def. like to have.

well, thats a decision you'd have to make, bud. either you could let it go for a lesser price and be done w/ it, or sit around w/ it for who knows how long until the right $$$ comes around.

glad to hear you are deciding to let that shoulder heal up. thats the smartest, best decision, brother.

now, as for an RR, i hope to have one someday. but i cannot see myself EVER EEEEEVER parting w/ my F4i. this is my 1st bike and i've so far been to hell and back w/ it, it seems haha. im like the mailman on this bike, name the conditions and i've rode the bike in them. its never given me any problems, i have no complaints. im gonna hold on to this bike .

good luck on the RR search. keep us updated. any specific color scheme you're going for?

color isnt really a factor..as long as its been treated right and runs good i would buy it.. i found a few locally that i woudlnt mind buying..but i gotta get mine sold first..this is the first day its truley been on the market..so maybe ill wait..lots of kids around here are looking for bikes..and are willing to pay good for em cause there so hard to find around here..im re-painting my tank right now..i dont like how it came out..so im gonna make the bike a little more presentable and sit it outside and see what happens. cant afford to take that big of a loss..even tho 3200 for a f4i that has been dropped sounds good..cant afford it, guess if i have to keep it for a few years till its paid off thats what ill do

i think im going to tell him $3,300 and hes got a deal..he is driving 400 miles just to come pick it up.

in the mean time ive been looking at this RR..i think i might get it if he will sell it for 5,000-5,200.

Tell him cash only. I dont do checks or even cashier checks. Cash is the easiest way to do it.

well this is how the convo. went down.

he live in billings MT. about 400 miles away from me..i said i couldnt deliver it, so he said well, what if i offered you $3,200 cash in hand and picked it up tomorrow (monday) i told him i will talk to the bank and sent him a few more pictures..another guy has his bike on ebay now and it ends tomorrow and he said he would give me an offer tomorrow sometime..so i guess ill just see what happens..just took it out and filled it up with gas..making sure every thing is perect..got the new paint on..good looking bike.

Give it time and if the dude really wants it he will pay for it. Don't jump on the first offer if it's less then what you want.IMO
