Good charity to donate 01 f4i to?
I have the "benefit" of being in the higher bracket, so the tax break would be sort of worth it.
JP - set yourself up as a charity and it's all yours!
For grins I'll attach a pic...
Thanks

I like cycletrader as its bike specific and very organized, I think you get the most serious buyers there and you'd probably get the right people looking for your kind of bike (mileage, price, etc, etc).
Craigslist n ebay are more of a crapshoot since its for general sales, imo.

If you do craigslist do NOT include your phone number I had guys calling me at all hours of the night some guy called at midnite and offered me a civic with a blown head gasket for my F4i. Ebay is nice again don't put your number on it either. I would go ebay and see how that works out for you first before anything else. I hate selling bikes on Craigslist, every moron wants to test drive it and they have no money untill next week to buy it......
If you want to go the charity route, you can go to a local charity of your choice, and allow them to raffle it with a precentage of proceeds going back to you.
Little leage, scouts, churches, are good for this sort of thing. Had a friend that wanted to sell a suburban for $20k payoff. Let little league baseball team raffle it at $100 per ticket, He got $20k and a write off for the amount of the extra raised of about $10k and some lucky person got a nice ride.
You could do that with your bike fairly easy, expecially if you aren't too concerned with what you get out of it.

A few folks have asked, so here's a link that I think will get you to some photos of the bike.
My apologies if this has gone from a topic about finding a charity to one about folks wanting to buy the bike, but I'm having no luck with the charity route. Of course, if JP gets his charity up and running, he's got first dibs on the bike!

Sorry I haven't updated this for a few days. One of the board regulars contacted me about the bike and we've been arranging the 'transfer'.
PLUS, I just picked up a new, out of the crate 2007 VFR 800, so I've been a basket case watching the weather channel for some breaks in the rain so I can ride it.
As for the charity, I found an awesome one that I'll definitely keep in mind for the future. It's called Work Vessels for Veterans (http://www.workvesselsforvets.org/) that would have taken the bike to give it to a returning Vet. This has two benefits - since the bike isn't resold, you get to deduct full, fair market value, PLUS you get to know that a Vet who busted his *** for us gets to enjoy the bike.
Now this won't mean much to you young guys, but one of the founders and spokesmen for the charity is Dave Mason (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dave_Mason). He founded Traffic, and played with Hendrix, The Stones and George Harrison to name a few.
Thanks to everyone for their help on this, and my apologies to you JP, for not being able to help you out...
Thanks,
K
